Last month marked a special milestone for us as we celebrated our Ribbon Cutting with the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce and our Public Grand Opening Celebration. The events were filled with joy, laughter, and a strong sense of community. We felt truly honored by the outpouring of love and support from everyone who joined us. Now, as the holiday season approaches, we are excited to keep the momentum going with a variety of festive activities designed for all ages. Whether you are looking for creative adult workshops or fun-filled kids’ events, there is something for everyone to enjoy this winter break.

Ribbon Cutting & Celebration

Our Ribbon Cutting was a night to remember! It was a gathering of neighbors, friends, and families coming together to celebrate a new chapter. The atmosphere was lively, with activities, amazing treats, and plenty of smiles. We were grateful to see so many faces, both familiar and new, eager to explore the space and learn about the programs we offer.

The Grand Opening Celebration showcased our commitment to creating a welcoming

environment where people of all ages can connect, learn, and have fun. From the hot cocoa sensory table, to the flying rockets and wiggling BrissleBots, the day was packed with moments that made everyone feel part of something special. Thank you to everyone who came out for the events and helped welcome Canvas & Code into the community.

Holiday Fun Planned for Everyone

As we move into December, we have planned a series of activities that capture the spirit of the season. These events are designed to bring joy, creativity, and relaxation to our community during the winter break. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

*No-School STEAM Adventure camps for Winter Break

Winter break means extra free time for kids, and we want to make sure they have plenty of opportunities to stay engaged and entertained. On no-school days, we will offer supervised activities that combine fun and learning. These include:

  • Festive Art Projects: learn and explore new art techniques.

  • Robot & Circuit Building: experiment and learn about motors and energy.

  • Challenges & Games: persevere and have fun while working together with friends.

Parents can feel confident leaving their kids in a safe, supportive environment while they continue to work, take care of errands, or enjoy some quiet time.

*Adult creative escape: diy gift-making

For adults looking to add a personal touch to their holiday gifts, our gift-making workshop provides the perfect outlet. We will focus on hands-on creativity and skill-building, with projects such as:

  • Handmade body scrubs with seasonal scents for pampering gifts.

  • Custom holiday cards using stamping and watercolors.

  • String art Christmas trees that light up to fit in any decor, or give as the perfect gift.

The workshop includes light snacks and drinks, a welcoming and festive atmosphere, and all materials needed with guidance from an experienced instructor. Participants leave not only with unique gifts but also with new crafting skills to use year-round.

Kids' night out: snow much fun

Parents deserve a break too, especially during the busy holiday season. Our Kids’ Night Out events offer a fun evening for children while parents enjoy some time off. Our night features:

  • Art projects and robot making activities.

  • Group games and team challenges.

  • Pizza, drinks and a sweet treat.

Kids get to socialize and have fun in a safe setting, while parents can relax or attend their own holiday events.

Why These Activities Matter

Holiday activities like these do more than fill time—they build community and create lasting memories. Children develop new skills and friendships, and adults find creative outlets and relaxation. Our goal is to make this season joyful and meaningful for everyone who walks through our doors.

Looking Ahead

The success of our grand opening has energized us to keep growing and serving our community. We plan to continue offering diverse programs that meet the needs and interests of all ages. Stay tuned for the Winter Semester schedule for the new year, registration opens next week! We will continue to offer engaging classes with some new ones added such as classes for Middle School aged kiddos. We are also excited to be donating to some local school auctions in the new year. If your school is having an auction or fundraiser, please connect us so we can continue to give back to the community we love!
