Learning Lab Home-School Class: Beginning Coding
Foundations of coding made simple and fun.
Curious about coding but not ready for the screen? This beginner-friendly class introduces students in grades K–5 to the world of coding through hands-on, screen-free activities. We'll explore what coding is, how it works, and why it matters — all without needing a computer. Using games, storytelling, puzzles, and interactive robots, students will learn core concepts like sequencing, loops, conditionals, and debugging in a playful and age-appropriate way.
This class is designed specifically for students with little or no prior experience — and yes, even kindergarteners can code! With the right tools and support, young children can develop the logical thinking and problem-solving skills that form the foundation of all programming.
Students may register for individual classes, but each lesson builds on concepts from the previous weeks. For the best learning experience and a deeper understanding of coding, we recommend enrolling in the full 9-week session.
Ages: Kindergarten – 5th grade
